Deja-Vu Monsieur Isildur1

Isildur1

Isildur1 makes the final table again

Winning a mtt with a 1.6mm dollar prize pool and over 8000 entrants would be a lifetime accomplishment for most poker players. Come to think of it, so would winning one with a 800k prize pool and 486 entrants. Well, what about being the most idolized cash game player of the generation and then nonchalantly accomplishing both of these feats on back to back days. As I sat and watched Isildur1 mow through another final table today, I could barely believe what I was watching. Blom has played in 12 SCOOP events up to this point. He has cashed in 3 of them, once for a modest 4k. He has managed to get into the top 10% of runners only twice. All of these stats sound

like they amount to a slightly above average series thus far. Of course, this all changes when you consider that each time he managed to crack the top 10%, he won. It’s a given that he, without a doubt ran like God throughout both tourneys, but it would be impossible to accomplish such a feat without some stellar play as well.

In today’s SCOOP 3-H event, Isildur1 once again reached the final table with the chip lead. However, this table did not lay down as easily as yesterday’s. While he managed to stay among the leaders all day yesterday, today was a high buy-in event, and therefore had

a much higher quality of players challenging Blom for the title. Finally, after a long final table in which Isi’s stack fluctuated quite a bit, he was able to build enough of a stack to get to heads up play. Admittedly, he luck-sacked the heads up match, winning one pot for his tourney life as a big dog, and two others in a flip situation. He finally set down his opponent, “Ruxandescu“, and added a further 160k to his earnings, bringing his total to 411k for the series. He had planned to play in many of the events, as he told us on his Twitter, but we will see if he takes a day or two off following these wins. If he holds true to form though, you can expect to see him back at it tomorrow, looking for the trifecta. We have posted some pictures from the tournament for those of you who missed it.

!p0krparty¡ looking good at the 25/50 tables

In other news, !p0krparty¡, is currently engaged in a deep stack battle with Phisherman36 at the 25/50 tables, and has discussed moving up to the 50/100 tables later on today. his bankroll is growing quickly, and after a rough start to the day he has moved into the black by 143k, with nearly 500k spread on his tables, after taking 240k off of Phisherman. His bankroll is somewhere around 600k+, as he is doing his best to keep us updated on his Twitter. Check him out quickly, as Phisherman’s bankroll is diminishing quickly and may not stay for much more. !p0krparty¡ has even grown a 220k stack on one of his 25/50 tables, after buying in for 5k.

what a week.. !p0krparty¡ reaches the top

!p0krparty¡ 50/100

one of !p0krparty¡’s first 10k shots goes well

We have been intently following !p0krparty¡’s recent return to the plo games on Pokerstars. While I feel sure he is far from done, he has managed to reach the high stakes games in record time. In the !p0krparty¡ thread that was growing on the 2+2 forum last week, many posters noted that there was nothing exciting about railing mid stakes cash games. However, there is something fascinating about someone with no fear of  losing money or sleep. !p0krparty¡ told us repeatedly in the chat box that he had no plans to quit, until he reached the top. Well he has made it now and we will watch to see how he fares this time around against the high stakes regulars. At one point he joked in the chat box that his goal was around $950,000, and he was not stopping until he got there. Ironically enough, he finds himself about a third of the way there, only one day into his high stakes attempt.

!p0krparty¡ chatting with Sauce and Deldar

It was less than two weeks ago that we broke the news of his return, however a lot has happened in that time. It seems the only thing that has not happened is a break from the tables for !p0krparty¡. We have seen him play 50 hour sessions, moving up as many as 5 levels in stakes in the midst of one session. The beginning of this run saw !p0krparty¡ go virtually busto at the 1/2 games, leaving him with only $100 in his account. He made the most of it however, starting at the micro buy-in mtts. After winning enough to take a shot at the .5/1 games, he moved mostly to cash games. Since then, we have seen him consistently play 16-24 tables of 6 max plo games, moving up from .5/1 to the high stakes games he was playing yesterday. After a rough first shot at the 25/50 games, he dropped back down to rebuild at the 10/20 games. Yesterday, after getting his account back in the 200k area, he took another shot. This time, things went better, and after 10k hands at the 25/50 and 50/100 games, he had managed 130k in profits. This brings his account well over 300k, all of which we are likely to see in play today.

!p0krparty¡ tells us about his strategy

He has been relatively careful with his bankroll management, if you can believe that, moving down when his bankroll dropped below the 25-30 buy in mark, and usually taking his shots by short stacking the next level. It is incredible to think that this has not been a fluke, as we knew this was !p0krparty¡’s goal when he started this journey. It is just amazing to think that what is now over 300k, was only $100 ten days ago. We can only hope this run continues, and !p0krparty¡ soaks up the money from the high stakes pool, as he has from the mid stakes games on the way up.

Of course, we still don’t know for sure who is behind the account. However, you can follow him on twitter, as he is updating it as an anonymous poster.

Zypherin brings the action

Guy Laliberte Interview

Guy Laliberte

Cirque du Soleil owner Guy Laliberte

Last night, when I went to bed, the 200/400 plo tables were up and running for the first time in a long while. When I woke up this morning,  I was excited to check how the games had turned out. To my amazement, the games were still running and had been throughout the night, with essentially the same players competing. The source of this rare action was Zypherin, who is rumored to be Guy Laliberte. Laliberte is still relatively new to poker in general and would be a newcomer to plo. You can hear him discuss his love for poker by clicking the link at the top of the article. The high stakes fish managed to drop just over 500k over the 18 hour 2 table session. If the account is controlled by Laliberte, it is unlikely the loses will keep him away from the tables for long, since his 3 billion net worth will barely notice the missing half a million. Lets hope this is the case, and that the 40k tables will become a regular running game on Stars.

Deldar182

Zypherin was easily the biggest loser in the games yesterday, but the high stakes produced other 6 figure winners and losers. The biggest winner in the games was David “deldar182“ Eldar, who scooped up almost 300k in the 40k plo games. Many will know him better by his Full Tilt screen name, “POKERBLUFFS“. He was a big player in the nosebleed no limit hold”em games on Full Tilt and has successfully made the transfer to plo, as indicated by his recent profits in the Pokerstars plo games. His recent winnings have brought him to a combined 2 million in profits since his accounts became active on the high stakes scene in late 2009. With a little run good, I think we can be sure we have added another big winner to the high stakes plo mix on Stars.

!P0krparty¡ shows his face again!

Harry Kaczka

Harry Kaczka is rumored to be !p0krparty¡

The mysterious !P0krparty¡, rumored to be Harry Kaczka (ugotabanana), is back in action tonight, equipped with a new avatar, at the Pokerstars tables. Many will remember him making runs on several occasions up to the nosebleeds at Pokerstars, Isildur1 style. Every time he plays he brings the action in the form of 20+ hour nosebleed sessions, but sadly none of his previous runs have lasted an extended period of time. Unfortunately, as we reported earlier, pokertableratings is no longer tracking stars, so we will have trouble getting any reliable estimates on his results, but so far he is looking solid. He is sitting 13 tables of 2/4 and 3/6 plo and is also sitting on the waiting lists of all other tables at those levels. He was playing some heads up games earlier at 3/6 and appeared to have just over 5k in his account. It now looks like he has well over that as he has 7.8k spread across his tables. If he is looking to put in some massive sessions in hopes of another run at the nosebleeds, we will be here to keep you updated.

ChicagoJoey on the Heater of a Lifetime

Joe Ingram

Joeingram1 is running like the sun

Up until recently, Joe “joeingram1” Ingram was well known for his endurance prop bets. He has played 50k hands in a day and recently earned almost 700k vpps in just under 3 monthsto obtain sne status. He accomplished this by making a full time move to plo from nlhe. Since then, he has quickly climbed stakes from the .50/1 tables to the nosebleeds he is playing at now. Formerly known as a rakeback grinder, he managed to accumulate 50k in loses at the tables through his first 4.3 million hands played with all of his earnings coming from rakeback. Since then however, things have changed. This year Joey has sent his graph into a sky rocket, profiting over 400k at the tables. The mass multi-tabler has throttled it back and now table selects the 10/20-100/200 games and is rarely caught playing below those levels. This transition occurred after some quick coaching from nosebleed player Brian Hastings. It is unlikely Brian thought his student would so quickly become a fellow player in the nosebleed games. While Joey’s game is much improved, he is also running like God lately and has profited almost every day he has played it seems. It will be interesting to keep an eye on him and see how he handles his first downswing, which will inevitably come at some point. Until then we can only watch in jealousy and see if Joey can make a run toward a top hat on ptr. (top hats are earned at the 1 million profit mark) Yesterday alone Joey made 70k playing in the 25/50 and 50/100 plo 6max games. He is back online as we speak and trying for another big day. We will keep you updated here on BeTheNuts if there is any new, exciting news to report.

Isildur1 returns!.. and busts his roll :(

Isildur1

Isildur1 returns, but not for long

Isildur1 returned in not-so-triumphant fashion today. He eventually busted his account of 100k but we did at least get a show during the day as he played 3k hands over a mixture of high stakes pot limit omaha and no limit hold’em. Along the way he built his roll up to close to 300k at one point playing mostly 50/100 plo. His luck turned bad when he decided to play Kanu7 at the 100/200 nl tables. He managed to lose back all of his 200k in winnings to Kanu7 before quitting and heading back to the plo tables. Using his usual aggressive bankroll strategy, he remained at the 100/200 plo games even though he was sitting on just 100k. There, he last only about 600 hands before dumping off the last off it to tables full of regulars including Phil Galfond, Patrik Antonius, Jeans89 and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. Jeans and Galfond were not as lucky as Isildur1 as they managed to dump off 225k and 300k respectively. Ilari Fin made 140k and Patrik basically broke even, showing a small 7k profit. We can only hope we see Isildur1 get the itch to play and makes another deposit tomorrow!

Premier League, Ben86 and Baseball!

Draftday

Draftday Daily Fantasy Leagues

You can tell summer is on its way, as the beginning of the MLB season kicked off this week. It couldn’t have come at a better time either as online games have been in a lull the last two weeks or so in the absence of Isildur1. If your a baseball nut or just looking to mix up your gambling habits you should check out Draftday. They do daily fantasy leagues where you will choose a team, join a league that is ran sit n go style, and collect your winnings. They have games ranging from the micros to higher stakes games. If baseball doesn’t do it for you, they have basketball leagues as well. Its a fun and cheap way to get more involved in the games without having to commit to a fantasy league long-term.

Ben Tollerene

Ben86 is the Big Winner This Week

While we have not had the wild sessions we were becoming accustomed to in March, we have seen plenty of sessions from Ilari Fin with mixed results, but no major swings in either direction. This week also brought the return of Ben86. Since Ben is one of the few players still willing to play high stakes PLO and NLHE he was able to get plenty of action and ran pretty well also. All together at last count, he was able to cross the 500k mark in profits for the last 7 days. That’s a pretty solid week considering the low traffic among the high stakes games this week.

Premier League also wrapped up yesterday. The final 8 players battled but in the end Scott Seiver managed to overtake Dan “Jungleman” Cates in heads up play to secure the first place prize of 500k. You can check out what the final two players had to say afterward here: Scott Seiver Interview and Dan Cates Interview. The Party Poker festivities are not quite over yet, however, as the Big Game VI is now currently running. They are streaming the whole event live and Tony G’s mouth has yet to stop running so don’t forget to stop by and check that out as well!
